Red Team TTX Case Study
In this case study I am going to simulate a Red Team Table Top Exercise (TTX). Traditional table top exercises bring together a group to walk through a scenario and how the group would react. With a table top red team exercise the group walks through an actual incident at another organization that was well documented. With the right people "in the room" the organization can establish an accurate feel for which components might be effective at the organization and be able to generate risk register entries along the way. An effective TTX requires intelligent, candid participants. Many times tech leaders will put on a bit too much bravado and quickly dismiss that something could happen at their organization. The right mindset for this sort of exercise is to assume each step would work and try to find reasons it couldn't, and not vice versa.
